You are cordially invited to attend the
Wild Wild Tea Duelling
& Casino Night
Saturday, April 20, 6-10pm
3657 Lemon Street, Riverside, CA 92501
Tickets $20.00 ($25.00 at the door)
Join us for a robust and rollick'n night of civilized disputes, card dealing, die rolling, bingo shouting, and roulette playing all in Steampunk style!
You can learn the art of Tea Duelling, the civilized competition of honor and shame! (Click here if you've never heard of Tea Duelling.) On consecutive Saturdays, April 6 and 13, 4-6pm in our Parish Hall we'll teach the basics of this Steampunk sport imported from the UK. On April 13, if you've got a ticket for April 20, you can try your new found talents at tea dueling to become one of the eight competitors during our Casino night.
Atlantic City Games returns from our previous casino night to teach and play blackjack (4 tables), craps and roulette. Minimum bets are $5 and max bets are $200. We're expanding our playing area out onto our Mission Inn lawn with a special area set apart with Steampunk fencing and lights. In our auditorium we'll be playing bingo, so bring your "quick draw" daubers. Your ticket will get you $200 play dollars - but if lady luck is against you, you can always purchase more! ($5 will get you $100 in play money; $20 will get you $500) Everything we raise will go to support our church.
Of course, that's not all! We will have a silent auction of items from Steampunk costuming to donations from local businesses for you to silently and competitively bid on. More information on donations to come!
Our event will be catered by the culinary students of Smooth Transition, Inc. (STI). STI offers many vocational development opportunities to its over 1500 students throughout the Inland Empire. Our church is developing a partnership to bring STI's six month accredited class in culinary arts to un- and under-employed youth and adults to our kitchen and April 20 is your opportunity to meet with students as they showcase their delectable talents.
